How To Auto Tweet Your New Blog Posts

In an effort to save time getting your message out to all your social media channels, I came across a WordPress Plugin that I wanted you to know about.

Twitter Tools

Have you ever thought:

Wouldn’t it be great if when I created a new blog post, my twitter account would automatically tweet that I have a new blog post?

Well, I have good news. Twitter Tools does just that. It also does a couple of other things, like auto shortening your links using bit.ly so you can track the number of clicks you get to your blog post, but I’ll get into that later.

I recorded a quick video to show you how to get Twitter Tools up and running in no time flat. Click on the Play button below, and leave me a comment if you wound up installing this Plugin.

PS — I missed one plugin that you’ll need in the video above to add the bit.ly short-link functionality:

Twitter Tools Bit.ly Links

Just install, and activate and you’ll have the bit.ly options in the Twitter Tools Settings menu.

    Hi.
Although twitter tools does just what you note, there is in fact a simpler way.

I use Hootsuite twitter client, and you can set up RSS feeds automatically.
Thus I never have to even think about auto-tweeting, Hootsuite does it for me automatically.
There are various options, per hour, daily, number of tweets, prefixes, etc. just like in twitter tools — and one less plugin to use and maintain.

Hoping this is a useful suggestion.
(Ps. you can set account up with hootsuite, and never even use it, and still take advantage of it's automation tools. )

    Hi Vince!

Thanks for the great tip. I've flipped back and forth between Hootsuite and
Tweetdeck, and wound up liking Tweetdeck more as it auto-clears the seen
tweets on the next login, so I know where I've left off on each of my lists.

Hope this helps any Hootsuite users out there!
